A gallery on Broadway in downtown Excelsior Springs. Paintings, pottery, sculpture, and mixed media by people who live within about an hour of this door. The back room is a classroom on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

On the walls

The hang changes every month.

Second Friday of the month one artist takes the front room and is here in person to talk about the work. Everything on these walls is for sale and goes home the same day.

Paintings

Oil, acrylic, and watercolor. Mostly landscape and still life, some abstract, priced from around fifty dollars for small unframed work.

Pottery

Wheel thrown mugs, bowls, and vases from four potters. The mug wall restocks weekly.

Second Fridays

One artist, the front room, and about forty people in a space built for twenty five. Free to walk in. It runs six to nine and the artist stays until the last question.

Classes cap at eight because that is how many easels fit. Several students have been coming for years and there is usually a seat for a new one. Call and we will tell you what is starting next, or ask for a subject we do not list and we will build the workshop.

The gallery

A storefront that pays local artists.

Every artist here keeps the large majority of what their work sells for. The gallery takes a small commission and puts it back into lighting, the classroom kiln, and the Second Friday openings.

If you make work and want to be considered, bring in three or four pieces on a Wednesday. There is no jury and no application fee. We look at it, we tell you yes or no, and if it is no we tell you why.
